Here we are showered, fed, rested and ready for the remaining 2/3 of the trail.

We arrived at Vermillion with a roll of Lifesavers as our only food. Ken just made the water taxi and convinced them to wait for Marcia.

Vermillion is expensive, but a great layover. Butch and the Vermillion staff are fun and very helpful.

The fast way down a steep, snow covered hill. (This was intentional.)

View of a small peak behind Virginia Lake late in the afternoon.

Mts Ritter and Banner from Island Pass. One of our favorite places in the sierra. We've never seen it look like this!

We got way off the trail because of all the snow and water.

Green at last! We are down to 9000 feet.

A view north through Lyell Canyon.
