Linda and Jerry met us at
Sonora Pass with lots of pizza, fruit salad, and Coke. We ate all we could ...
then tried to find a
place for the remaining food.
As we left Sonora Pass
a storm started to move in. We soon found ourselves in a rain/hail storm at
10,000 feet amidst the flashes of lightning and booms of thunder.
You can see that
snow is no longer a problem. We continue to get rain, but have been able to
dry out our gear during the day.
This is Lost Lake south of Carson Pass.
We crossed through
lots of fields of wild flowers near Ebbetts and Carson Passes. We saw lots of
day hikers on the weekend before July 4th. The volcanic
rocks in this area were also amazing.
Carson
Pass was the only place on the PCT we were checked for our permit.
