A room at the top! We found Muir Hut at the top of 12,000 foot Muir Pass. On our PCT trip we arrived late in the day and spent a cozy night at Muir Hut. There was 3 feet of snow around the hut. We melted snow for water and enjoyed a spectacular sunset.

A view of the ceiling. It reminds me of building an igloo, but this roof is made from stone blocks.

A view of the fireplace. Notice the ledge to the right of the fireplace. It was wide enough to sleep on.
