We were above the clouds for this sunset. We camped in the saddle after Apache Peak. This sunset was to the west and the lights of Palm Springs were below us on the east. Nice view to both sides.

We hiked off-trail to Cedar Springs for water. There we found Silver, UK Ray, and Llama taking a tea break. We never caught up with Silver again, but we saw UK Ray and Llama at many stops over the next thousand miles.

That's Interstate 10 below us. We have to cross UNDER it, then climb into the mountains on the other side. Where are the bridges when you need them?

We slogged along through really deep, loose sand and incredible heat. Interstate 10 is just behind the train tracks.

Marcia posing in the Joshua trees. We found that you don't want to get to close to them.
