The motel owner drove us several miles down the hill to the only
restaraunt in town and returned to pick us up later. We were showered and
fed in Metaline Falls, Washington and now we needed to get back to our car
in Sun Valley, Idaho. The motel owner helped us with public transportation
options. It sounded complicated and had several transfers.
We remembered a hiker who offered us a trail-end ride at Naples. We
called and asked what he was doing today. He replied,"I'm coming to
give you a ride to the Spokane airport." He drove north from Naples,
thru Canada, then south to find us. We had a very enjoyable ride with Mud
Man to the airport.
A couple of hours later we rented a car in Boise. Who would believe
that we would be in Boise so fast. Cars and airplanes are so much faster
than walking.
Tomorrow morning we will drive to Sun Valley, pick up our car and drive
back to Boise to return the rental.
