We barged the Canal du Midi from Castelnaudry to near Bezier. The canal is one of the oldest canals in Europe. It connects the Mediterranean to the Atlantic Ocean. The original purposes were for military and trade routes. Now it is mostly a tourist route.

Working our way through the locks on Canal du Midi the first afternoon. We found we had a lot to learn about locks and canals.

Cruising through a very old bridge.

Approaching the one tunnel we had to negotiate.

A typical view of the canal lined with 200 year old trees.

The ladder of locks at Bezier. The locks were frequently lined with tourists.
