As we parked at the visitor center we saw our first egret in the marsh across the road. It walked along the edge of the water as we crept closer and closer to snap its picture.

We visited this park on our EBRP 2004 hikes. It is always an enjoyable hike becasue of the many birds of so many species in the marsh.

We followed the trail along the road to where we were supposed to get on the boardwalk. Oops, the boardwalk was underwater. We have been having record breaking rain and this area is where all that water drains. Our loop trail turned into an out-and-back trail. That was okay.

On our way back to the car we encountered a Canadian Goose on the levee. She began to hiss as we got closer. It was obvious that she owned the area and wasn't going to move. We gave her plenty of room and moved past her and back to the car.
