We arrived at the
trailhead just after noon. The breeze was blowing, the sky was slightly overcast
and it felt like a perfect day for hiking. We started off by climbing the hill
behind the parking lot up to Ten Hills Trail. Then we followed the trail below
the ridge line, and below a line of houses.
As we
skirted the golf fairway we arrived at a bridge, then another trail junction.
After deciding we had to climb back up the hill we got brief glimpses of one arm
of Lake Chabot. We soon finished the loop and started back along the ridge. The
trail was shaded by oak trees for most of the way. The shade was welcome and
made the frequent ups and downs comfortable to hike.
